Information

The Photo—Graphic Architecture symposium will provide a provocative forum for leading architects, scholars, and photographic artists to discuss the constructive and projective relationships between architecture and photography. Organized by the Kent State College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED), the April 14-15 event will explore the complicated histories and burgeoning aesthetic, political and technological influences of different photographic logics and techniques—including aerial (drone) imaging, photomontage, and photogrammetry—on contemporary architectural design. Participants will include Beatriz Colomina, Luisa Lambri, Anastasia Savinova, Martino Stierli, Jesús Vassallo, and Jon Yoder. Two days of film screenings, presentations, design reviews, roundtable discussions, and book signings will begin in the Akron Art Museum’s Lehner Auditorium on April 14 and conclude in Kent State University’s Cene Lecture Hall on April 15.
